Math Quizzine
Here is today's math question:
If you fire a bullet weighing 1/2 ounce from a gun with a 6 inch barrel, at a height of 3 feet - aimed horizontally, and at the same time you drop an identical bullet from a height of 3 feet, how much longer does the bullet fired from the gun stay in the air before it hits the ground? Assume there is no wind, and that the temperature is 30 degrees celcius.
Have fun and good luck!

They hit the ground at the same time.

...with gravity exerting a force of 0.129066 newtons.

It's odd you should mention that MooCow, because I was just thinking about exerting my Newtonian force on you.

Don't exert newtons on me.
Hmm.
That just doesn't have the same ring as "Don't touch me."

"Don't insert newtons in me"?
Hmmmmmm...

Who's Newton and why do you want/not want him inserted?

When do we find out if I was right or not?

Ah, my apologies. I've been quite busy with lots of other goings-on.
Grend31 is absolutely right. The bullets would hit the ground at exactly the same time. The horizontal velocity of an object has no effect on other forces influencing it, i.e. - gravity pulling it down.
Thanks everyone for playing!

For my prize do I get to insert Newtons in MooCow?

Yes, as long as they aren't put in his mouth.
